We've made it to March! It was a bit more hectic as usual as we had TWO different Spring breaks for Little Sweetie and Big Brother (definitely not a fan).
But before we hit Spring Break, we had some big events to get through, including our yearly Marathon events tradition. Happy to report it was another successful Marathon for Team WILLPower and St. Edward Run Club!
The kids' race weekend was first and while Little Sister wasn't a fan of the cold weather we had that morning, she ran her 1.2 miles to finish another marathon challenge!

Headed into the finish!

Another marathon challenge complete!
Always more fun to run with friends!
Very proud of our Run Club on another successful season!
The following weekend it was time for the half and the full. Little Sweetie did a great job cheering all of us on!
Cool girl.
Team WILLPower annual Chuy's celebration!
Little Sweetie's also been very buy with activities at school! From Go Texan Day to Monarch with Merit to Dr. Seuss Day, she's had a lot of fun dressing up and being recognized.

Our Little Cowgirl was very excited to dress up for Go Texan Day!
But she was even more excited when she found out she had earn the Monarch with Merit for Justice this month!
Proud of our girl for demonstrating the Virtue of Justice!
Of course our National Parks enthusiast decided to go as a Park Ranger for the Oh the Places You'll Go career day theme!
We also got to enjoy picnic lunch at school with Little Sweetie and her friends this month! Grateful for the great group of girls she has in her life!
She also finished up her basketball season with competing in the Archdiocese Free Throw competition (4th for her age group) and her Basketball party!
So much growth in her favorite sport this year. Can't wait to see what next year looks like!
And then it was time for Little Sweetie's Spring Break. Unfortunately, she and Big Brother (because they are in different schools) ended up having different Spring Breaks this year, so we ended up having to break differently. But we made it work!
As usual, the start of break coincided with the start of Girl Scout Cookie Season and our Church Cookie Booth. Little Sweetie was a rock star working it this year!
Quite the sales-panda!
Our Panda mascot was very popular! Little Sweetie was a great panda, panda handler, and salesgirl!
Then, since we had to be creative with her break, we invited her friend I for a sleepover and a playdate at then new park nearby.
Marshmallows and Rubik's Cubes by the fire!
Park fun!
Ice cream and picnic lunch to close it out!
We then spent the rest of the week enjoying waterway walks, some shopping, lunch with Daddy, and then celebrating Daddy's birthday.
Tim together is the best time!
Happy birthday Dad!
Then, because of the different Spring Breaks this year, we decided to just do a quick weekend family trip to Waco!
Packed up and ready to go!
First stop (and the real motivation for the trip) was the Mammoth National Monument. Little Sweetie was very excited to learn about the mammoths and to get another Junior Ranger badge.
A great afternoon learning about mammoths together!
Checking into the hotel. We are literally only staying one night and this is the amount of stuff we need.
We don't' know what it means to travel light.
We spent the next morning checking out the Cameron Park Zoo. It's a smaller zoo than Houston, but it was a good half day activity and we got to see some different animals.
Ready for a zoo adventure!
The African elephant and kori-bustard were our two favorite exhibits!
Family zoo time is always a good time!
Glad we went!
Our last stop before heading home was Baylor University. Little Sweetie thought it was pretty cool they have actual bears on campus!
We are hoping to incorporate more college visits on our trips in the future for Little Sweetie to check out!
We finished her Spring Break with a trip to the "room where it happened" by taking her to see Hamilton!
So excited to share this with her!
Immediately came home to watch the movie version with Big Brother!
How did we get so lucky to have two of the coolest kids ever in our family?
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Height and Weight
Preteen life continues to treat her well! She's up to 59.5 inches and 90.2 pounds.
Everyone once in awhile, she'll let me dress her up!
Personality
Still just the right amount of "young" for an 11 year-old! We are fortunate that she has a good group of friends that are silly and funny like she is. While she is starting to think a little bit more about what she is wearing, overall she's still a kid that likes stuffies and playing games, with just a touch of preteen attitude every now and again for good measure.
Developmental Milestones
She so studious and determined! When she's not trying to get the highest grade on school work (which we try to work with her on her inherent perfectionist tendencies by working to highlight a growth mindset), she finding things that interest her to pursue. Lately, it's been learning to master Rubik's cubes; such a cool hobby!
Always finding ways to challenge herself!
Fun Tidbits
Little Sweetie and her Girl Scout friends were featured in our Council's magazine for their Bronze Award project!
So proud of these girls!
And on we go into April, ready for track and Easter fun!
Good night,
