Spring has most definitely sprung! It has been another full month for our favorite girl, filled with track meets, Easter preparation, and time together.
This has been a year full of sports! With the addition of soccer in the fall, Little Sweetie has become a 3 season athlete (well, 4 season if you count the upcoming swim season!). While she's been doing track since she was first able to (I think 2nd grade because of Covid during her 1st grade year), this is her first year running Junior High track, which is competitive versus experiential as 5th graders get the option to "run up" as 6th graders. Little Sweetie has enjoyed gaining the experience and being on a relay team with her best friends!

The Besties Relay Team for 4x100!

Hanging with friends during the track meet.

Impromptu makeup Girl Scout meeting due to track running long!

She may not be the fastest on the field, but she's working and making gains each meet!
She has run the 100m, 200m, and 400m along with the relay.

Proud of these girls!
Go Little Sweetie!

Godfamily got to come out and support at her last regular season meet!

Unfortunately, the last meet brought with it a strained posterior tibial tendon.

Rest and stretching were prescribed, so she got to do some long sitting with Big Brother.
Even when it's not track time, she's always having fun with her friends.
Soccer skills party at school!
Celebrating her classmate A's birthday!

A very fun night at Booster Bingo Bonanza!

Enjoying Fish Fry with T!

Enjoying a school Spirit Night with Daddy!

Excited to go with Momma to see her babysitter J. M. in a play at the high school!

She's gotten more interested in running this year and asked me to do training runs with her. Be still my heart!

Got some Momma - Daughter time for nails and shopping when she had Holy Thursday off of school.
We even finally got to enjoy some cooking with our resident Chef this month! We were trying to decide what fish to have on Good Friday and Little Sweetie remember the Figuero Fish Sticks from her original Minnie Mouse cookbook. This was the cookbook that started her love of cooking and, even though she's so busy we don't get to cook together often, she still enjoys using her skills when she can.

Delicious as always!

Packing the meals! We even got featured by the Cross Catholic Outreach program!

So thankful for these girls and their families!

Got to enjoy a Chuy's dinner with T afterwards too!
Easter Buddy visit!

Enjoyed our Good Friday strawberry and flower picking at Atkinson's Farm (and had fun with friends we haven't seen in awhile, the O family)!
Height and Weight
Growing like a WEED! These puberty growth spurts are no joke. She is just under 60 inches and 93.2 pounds now!

Godbrother was a bit caught off guard that she's towering over him right now; he'll catch up soon!
Personality
Ready to take the world by storm this one! We continue to deal with the developmentally appropriate tween attitude, but we do so enjoy being around here (though her constant energy may wear her old parents out)! Right now, she has a real sense of self. She knows who she is and what she likes. Thanks to supportive friends, she never questions herself and I hope that strength stays as long as possible as we head toward the teen years.

Enjoying some hot chocolate at brunch before Big Brother's faith formation class.

If she could always be outside in jean shorts and a pony tail with her Swiss Army knife doing camp activities, she'd be perfectly content!
Developmental Milestones
As I've mentioned before, 5th grade may not be technically Junior High, but it is no joke. They are definitely preparing her for the work of next year. Thankfully, she is up to the challenge and we are working to help her develop her time management and planning skills.

For history, she had to make a covered wagon out of a predetermined list of supplies. She designed and created it all on her own!

Fifth grade had a big test on the 50 states and capitals coming up; after their events they all started studying!
Fun Tidbits
Today is actually the one year anniversary of buying our new house! What a year it has been! While it was a bit stressful of a time, we are grateful that everything fell into place.

Happy Home-Anniversary!
Next month will find us nearly finished with school and fully immersed into swim. Tired thinking about it already, but grateful for all these experiences!
Good night,
