May 19

What a month of fun with friends and family! As always, we continue to stay very busy. Going into the month, we had lots of fun racing, decorating Easter eggs, and celebrating the holiday.

Ready to showcase some WILLPower at the Ironkids race!

Great job, Team WILLPower!

Then it was time to prepare for and celebrate Easter!

Pretty eggs!

Happy Easter!

Hunting Easter eggs!

Found our baskets!

She's so beautiful!

Hunting eggs outside!

Delicious dinner!

Little Sweetie also got to have a lot of fun with friends this month.

Enjoying a visit from L and her Godparents!

Birthday fun for her friend C!

Girl Scout pool party time!

A great sleepover with her preschool buddies, G & V!

Our 4 season athlete is also in the middle of some overlap between spring track at school and summer
swim! We also had a bit of a hiccup which could have really affected her participation: sustaining a buckle fracture on her left wrist during Field Day at school! We were so fortunate that it was minor and she only required an exocast, which she could take off to shower and was able to swim with.

Practicing her starts!

So Friday morning was Field Day and, while playing on the blow up jousting activity, she got knocked off and caught herself with a late wrist. It hurt immediately, but seemed to resolve with ice and not moving it a certain way. We were hoping it was just a sprain, especially because she had her Track Championships the next morning!

Her wrist was still hurting her Saturday morning, so we pulled out the brace we had and Coach D switched her relay order so she would be first and not have to accept a handoff and jiggle her wrist. Not the way we wanted to end the track season, but glad she still got to participate.

Running her last race of the season!

Love these four!

Finished the meet early enough we got to go cheer on a friend in another running event, Ironman!

When her wrist was still bothering her Sunday morning, we knew it was more than a sprain and went in for baby's first x-rays. Sure enough, there was a buckle fracture. Le sigh.

X-rayed and splinted until we could get to the pediatric orthopedist on Tuesday.

That tiny little bump causing so much trouble!

Exocast from the orthopedist; back in business and ready to heal.

Buckle fracture can't stop her!

Happy to be reunited with swim friends!

Swim meets aren't for the weak!

Little Sweetie also got to have some special moments with family this month and we love all of our time with her.

Happy Mother's Day to me! Happy to celebrate with our SECS friends!

Enjoying Pastries with Parents with Dad!

And a very good nap time with Big Brother!

Height and Weight
Staying strong at 89.6 lbs but now just over 60 inches! She's grown roughly 3 inches this school year.

Tallest of the foursome.

Personality
The thing I love the most about Little Sweetie is that right now, even while she is growing up, she is still filled with wonder, joy, and playfulness. She is still appropriately young and that's something to treasure in the tween years.

My Mother's Day gift was the reissued American Girl Samantha Doll (fulfilling a childhood dream), and my Little Sweetie was all in on having our dolls enjoy a playdate together.

Doll picnic!

Upon hearing about my gift, my dear friend from high school sent me vintage Samantha clothes that used to be her sister's. Little Sweetie and I had so much fun going through them!

Eleven and a half and still interested in playing dolls with her Momma!

Developmental Milestones
With the Easter Break we finally got to enjoy some cooking time together! She's doing so much of it independently now.

Homemade empanadas!

Then we turned all those strawberries we picked into jam!

But besides cooking, Little Sweetie got to add another skill to her repertoire, changing a toilet! She seemed to enjoy her plumbing challenge.

Very proud of herself!

Fun Tidbits
Little Sweetie is old enough to start viewing some classic movies. We decided to start the Star Wars Trilogy!

A long time again in a galaxy far, far away...

Only a few more days of school now and then it's summer break! Wahoo!

Good night,
