January 19

Welcome to 2014, Little Sweetie!  We've started out the year with a lot of fun and new adventures.  I also spend a lot of time taking pictures of our sweet girl, who is more alert and adorable each day.

Happy three months, Little Sweetie!

Asleep...awake...and smiles!

Family time!

Rocking brother's hand-me-downs.  Girls like dinosaurs too!  Roar!

Height and Weight
According to our measurements, she is about 14 lbs. and 24 1/8 inches long.  Our sweet growing girl!
Personality
While still very easy going, she is learning to be more demanding.  Often she fusses very hard trying to stay awake when she needs to take a rest.  After a few minutes of screaming, she then conks out!  And she still is very insistent when it is feeding time.
Developmental Milestones
She is sleeping about 7 to 8 hours a night regularly, which still amazes me!  Her beautiful smiles have only increased, along with some cooing.  She's holding her head up well when she deigns to cooperate during tummy time (she's really not a fan of doing it) and has rolled over twice from belly to back (we think these were more angry accidents than on purpose rolling though).  She's also starting to notice and play with toys more.

Loves to smile!

And offers such interesting conversation!

Fun Tidbits
Little Sweetie has become a master of blowing bubbles.  It makes her a bit sticky and drooly, but it's pretty cute too!  She's also becoming very independent (already?!) and wants us to stand her up and face her outward because she is always interested in what's going on.  She also doesn't like us to sit and hold her, preferring instead for us to stand and walk her around the room.  She took her first plane ride this month (to Ohio for a belated Christmas.  Look for my next post!) and she and brother are becoming fast friends.

Kisses!

See you next month!

Merry Belated Christmas!

Since our Little Sweetie was so young at Christmas time (and because tickets were ridiculously expensive), we decided to delay our holiday celebration until January!  So, this month, we took our first cross country trip as a family of four to visit the grandparents in Ohio!

After a pretty successful flight (Little Sweetie slept and ate the whole time and Little Buddy watched his DVD player and didn't get too stir crazy), we arrived in Pittsburgh.  First stop was to see Great Granny before heading to Mimi and Pop-Pop's house in Marietta.  We had great visit with Granny (apple butter time!) and the rest of our Marietta visit was lovely.  Little Sweetie got to see Marietta College for the first time as well as snow!

Snow!  The only bad part was that it hindered playing on the castle that day.

Got to see Great Grandma too!  Little Sweetie also got to meet Great Aunt P, as well as Great Uncle T and Great Aunt R.

A fun January Christmas with Mimi and PopPop!

After three days in Marietta, it was time to head to Canton to see Mamaw and Papaw.  Besides seeing Mamaw and Papaw, we got to visit with Great Aunt T and Uncle B, Great Aunt K, Great Aunt P, and my cousins, B, M, and A.  We also got the special treat of going to the McKinley Museum and seeing our dear friends who had just moved back to Ohio, Ms. C with her daughters, C and N!  Two other big hits included actually getting to take a ride on Papaw's bus and getting to watch a swim meet (for some reason Little Buddy is obsessed with being on a swim team)!

Meeting Great Aunt K!

Such a fun visit with Mamaw and Papaw!

And we even survived the plane ride home!

I actually kind of liked the lack of stress experienced as we traveled for our belated Christmas.  Maybe we'll change up holiday dates in the future too!

Good night,
