April 19

I may be utterly and completely exhausted this month, but Little Sweetie's been living her best life.  It's been awhile since I've done a "this is our routine post", but it may be time to update with all Little Sweetie's activities!

Sundays:  Church, mixed in with singing in the Choir and Sacramental Preparation

Mondays:  Choir after school

Tuesdays:  Chess Club after school

Wednesdays:  Track practice after school

Thursdays:  Piano after school

Fridays:  Take a quick breath

Saturdays:  Track meets, Girl Scouts, Birthday Parties

This girl is BUSY.  And Swim Team starts at the end of the month (thankfully, Track will have finished).  But she's enjoying everything and loving it.  We're proud of all of her new interests and impressed she's been keeping up with her school work.  So much happening this Spring in Second Grade!

Enjoying a Science Show!

Field Trip Day!

Checking out the 8th graders' solar houses!

Working on her Lenten project!

And, as I said, the fun doesn't stop once school is over!

Little Sweetie and G after Chess Club.

Singing with the Choir on Palm Sunday.

Finishing up Girl Scout Cookie sales!

Enjoying her first school team sport:  Track!

Hanging with her school running friends at the IRONKIDS Race (where she got a PR on her mile)!

Little Sweetie also got to have a lot of fun over her Easter Break.  She gets off on Holy Thursday while Big Brother still had school, so that meant she got to have a special day with Momma.  I love having this one-on-one time with her!

Starting the morning with the requested treat of dipping shortbread cookies into Momma's coffee.

Our big outing together?  Painting pottery!  It's a tough activity to do with Big Brother, so it was nice to have the time to make some Easter-themed art together!

Enjoying a walk on the Waterway and a surprise visit with Aunt S!

Finished the afternoon with some Easter Cookie decorating!

Our family Easter weekend traditions started on Good Friday, with our annual trip to Atkinson's Farm for strawberry picking!

It was lightly raining, but this is always a family favorite!

Holy Saturday meant it was time to dye some Easter eggs and watch all our favorite Easter movies.

Beautiful eggs!

Some "bunnies" are excited for Easter tomorrow!

We got up early on Easter Sunday and made it to 7:30 AM Mass.  It was even more fun since we got to see Uncle M, Aunt S, and L there!

Family pic!

God-siblings!

Happy Easter!

Momma and her mini-me!

Matching holiday outfits for life!

Traditional scavenger hunt for the Easter Baskets!

The Easter Bunny was very kind to these two!

Egg hunting time!  We then got to enjoy Easter lunch with Mimi and Pop-Pop and hunt plastic eggs outside.

The kids still had school off on Easter Monday, so we took advantage of the day to do some errands and finally cook together again!

Another round of Communion dress shopping!  I think we may have picked our winner.

With all of her activities lately, we haven't been able to cook together much.  We were glad to make this vegetable korma for Monday dinner!

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie is staying consistent at 60.8 lbs. this month and up to about 50.8 inches now!

Everything is awesome!

Personality
Fun and spirited, though sassy and indecisive at times.  She's definitely growing into her own person.  While we do have to remind her about tone and being respectful, I am happy to see her creating her own opinions and being able to stand up for herself.

Developmental Milestones
Still rocking it at school and continuing to foster her creativity at home.

Some shirtless scientist action in the afternoon!

Continuously creating!

However, something I do love is that she's not quite grown up yet.  We have a lot of PBS kids shows playing for Big Brother and Little Sweetie never complains about watching them.  There's something quite sweet in it.

Fun Tidbits
Speaking of enjoying kids' shows, we cashed in one of Big Brother's Christmas gifts and went to see Daniel Tiger: Live!  We were excited for Big Brother to be able to attend a theater program he would enjoy, but Little Sweetie didn't even try to hide her approval!  Fun for all!

Two thumbs up!

Next month will find us somehow finishing the school year and moving right into swim team and summer camps.  How will I have a rising THIRD grader???  Blessed with every moment.

Good night,

LSM
