Going out to eat is always a big component of break, and it's made even better by having a Sanfilippo family member come in from out of town to share it with you!
Kanga's playtime was a definite winter break must-do! Little Sweetie was so excited that she was big enough now to do the wall climbing and that her friend G could come play too!
There's a lot of times that I get frustrated trying to keep both kids happy and stimulated over break. Many times the things Little Buddy wants to do are boring to Little Sweetie and the things she wants to do are too advanced for him. But I was determined to 'make it work' and find a way to play together. And we did!
Picnic time! Little Sweetie prepared us a pretend picnic and we worked with Little Buddy to get him to say the words associated with the picnic. It was a lot of fun and I was so proud with how excited Little Sweetie was when Little Buddy would say a word!

Afterwards, Little Sweetie remembered that we had a book about picnics, so she asked me to read it to them. Then she decided that she would 'read' it again, this time to Little Buddy.
The picnic idea was so successful that Little Sweetie insisted on doing it again the next day, but this time in costume! Love it when these two show their connection.

Being off of school meant that Little Buddy got to go cheer Little Sweetie on at gymnastics!

Cutting, grating, stirring...yes, she may be making delicious soup, but she's also learning important skills. And not just the cooking part either. The organization, the patience, the step-by-step to accomplish something bigger. And I get to be there with her. This is my favorite part of everything. So much to be learned and loved in the kitchen.

Staying steady in weight at 41.4 pounds this month and still right about and 42.25 inches.

Personality
Very loving lately, and I don't just mean with us. She's not into dolls, but she does love her stuffed animals and calls them her babies and she is their momma. She takes very good care of them. I love seeing this nurturing side with her, especially as it co-exists with her wonderful spitfire, can do personality. She is the best of everything.

Developmental Milestones
Again, fine motor skills and social development is cruising right along. Her attention is great and she can focus, but she does like to keep up and move quite a bit. And I just love her "can do" attitude. She never gives up.

Fun Tidbits
Ms. 'I'm never cutting my hair' finally changed her tune and allowed a trim but only because, and I quote, "I'm sick of it getting stuck in my armpits when I put on a shirt." That's possibly the most rational reason I have every heard for a haircut.
