Baptism Day!

Today was Little Sweetie's Baptism Day!  We were so excited to share this special day with family and friends.

It was a beautiful and fun day!  Again, we were so blessed that so many of our family and friends could celebrate this milestone with Little Sweetie, but a special thank you to Mamaw and Papaw for flying in from Ohio and to Aunt S and Uncle M for agreeing to take such a special role in Little Sweetie's life as her Godparents.

Good night,

March 19

Fair warning, way too many pictures of our sweet girl this month!  She's growing up too fast, so we are doing all we can to capture the memories.

Already five months?!  How?!?

Just can't stop ourselves from taking pictures of this sweet smile!

Lots of new things this month!  Little Sweetie started the month by cheering on her godmother (Aunt S) and I as we ran our half marathon.  She was the cutest cheerleader by far!

Go, Momma, go!

Another important part of March is celebrating Daddy's birthday.  You can already tell how much Little Sweetie is going to be a Daddy's girl!

Daddy's helper is hanging out and ready to assist!

Going to be a handywoman someday!

Entranced by birthday cake and ready to dive in!  Happy birthday, Daddy!

And her bond with brother is not to be understated...

Starting a band!

Shapes lesson from Big Brother!

We've also been really big on photo shoots this month.  Can't get enough of her!

The tiger photo shoot, as designed and coordinated by Little Buddy.

We've also finally gotten back into the swing of cloth diapers.  We used them quite a bit with Little Buddy, but hadn't found our stride with Little Sweetie until this month.  Now that she's chubbed up a bit, they fit better, and we're using them more.

I also had my first bittersweet moment the other week.  Little Sweetie grew out of her first piece of baby equipment.  Now, she's grown out of an entire bin's worth of clothes, but that didn't bother me too much.  But her growing out of the bouncer and us having to pack it up into the attic?  That was tough.  It made me more emotional than I would have thought.  It truly goes so much faster with the second kid!

Slow down, little one!  Don't grow up too fast!

Height and Weight
Based on our bathroom scale and tape measure, she's coming in at approximately 16 lbs. and 27 in.

Personality
Still very social and loving.  While this is wonderful, it also means that she wants to be around someone all of the time so as to demonstrate her social nature and love.  She hates to be left alone, even for a moment with her toys, which is a bit of a challenge when trying to take care of her big brother!

Developmental Milestones
Although she desperately wants to crawl (and walk), she hasn't been able to plant her feet to get going (thank goodness!).  She's had to settle for scooting in a circle on her belly.  Little Sweetie is also able to sit up by herself for short periods unassisted and is starting to show interest in food.  She's also hit a growth spurt, which spurred some nighttime wakings and, as a result, has moved back down into our room until she gets acclimated again (it's not worth walking up and down the stairs in the middle of the night and the possible waking of brother!).  Due to her drool, night-waking, and constant chomping on her fingers, we think teeth are just around the corner.  She also figured out how to blow air in people's faces, which was a trick that delighted her quite a bit, and is enjoying playing in her jumperoo!

Blowing in Momma's face!

I love to jump!

Fun Tidbits
Like her brother, this one will NOT nap in her crib.  When this happened with Little Buddy, I just took him for a walk in his stroller until he passed out.  Well, with Little Buddy napping in his bed, I can't take Little Sweetie out for walks, but she has found a solution in sleeping in the Ergo carrier.

"A bed?  No thanks.  I'll just sleep here."

She's also hitting some milestones in her faith.  At the beginning of this month, she received her first  ashes and towards the end of the month, she'll celebrate her baptism.  Mamaw and Papaw are even coming into town for it!

Dirty forehead day as well as some quality time with her godfather, Uncle M.

Looking forward to a fun weekend celebrating our sweet girl with family and friends!

Have a good night,
