August 19

Our summer has passed and my baby has started kindergarten.  Excuse me as I cry tears of sadness and of pride.  We thankfully used our last summer moments to have a lot of fun!

We got to cheer on Big Brother at his triathlon!  We celebrated with a Chuy's lunch and I love that Little Sweetie made her dolls into triathletes too!

Truly, the end of summer really means as many Chuy's visits as possible with friends and family!

Made it for a Kangas visit with K and G!

Baseball games!

Splash pad fun!

Staying cool with indoor play at My Gym and Bouncing Bears!

Target trips are as exciting as an activity as any!

With Mamaw and Papaw in town, we even got to try something new...bowling!  Everyone had a great time!

And, of course, cooking.  Always cooking.

Cookie time!

Making homemade fruit snacks with her big shark, J!

Her homemade goldfish crackers were pretty tasty!

Working on Papaw's 69th birthday cake!

Making strawberry sun tea and cucumber sandwiches to have a tea party with Mamaw and Papaw!

And then here we are...with a kindergartner.  So many emotions.  I will miss our days together, but I can't selfishly hold on to her forever.  A child this special needs to be shared with the world.

Uniform purchased, Meet the Teacher completed, Night Before Kindergarten read...here we go!

Ready to start an adventure!

All smiles at pick-up and then crash!  Sleepy girl.

Height and Weight
This cutie patootie is 45.2 pounds and just under 44 inches.

I love that smile!

Personality
Still our happy-go--lucky girl, but the loss of naps and the addition of full-time school has definitely made dinner/bath/bedtime more emotional for our tired girl.  Working on helping her recognize her physical and emotional feelings and on communicating about them better.

Developmental Milestones
Her drawing are becoming more and more detailed and we've been really impressed!  I think this year is going to be a big one for our growing girl as she gains and refines skills.

Always so creative!

She's ready to take on new challenges too...like sewing!

The goal is to make a pillow and then work on matching Momma/Daughter/Aprons.  Wish us luck!

She also played her first "video game" after discovering Momma and Daddy's old handheld games.

This is a level of screen time that I'm ok with, ha!

Fun Tidbits
Well...Momma had a big milestone this month and I couldn't be more proud to share it with this girl.  I finally graduated with my doctorate!  Little Sweetie hasn't known a life without me working on my degree.  It's been a hard road to graduation, but I am thrilled to be able to show my daughter that you can persevere through difficulties and still achieve.

Celebrating with the grandparents!

A moment I wasn't sure would happen.

Oh baby girl, if this is your dream, I will do all I can to help you reach it.

See you in September,

LSM
