July 19

Summer is in full force and we're keeping busy!  Little Sweetie has been doing well with all of her activities and we've been excited to watch her try new things.  Her big activities this summer have included her summer week long sports camps.  Future super star in training!

The first week of sports camp was a sports sampler, where they did a different sport everyday (soccer, baseball-throwing and catching, and basketball).  The baseball part was her favorite!

Soccer was a bit tough on the gym floor...she couldn't keep up with the ball when she kicked it!

Future Astro in training!

Game face on for basketball day!

Following that week, she also had a week of basketball and a week of soccer.  This time soccer was outside and she did MUCH better in the grass.

The insanity that is 3-4 year olds playing "full court" basketball.  This week wasn't her favorite...she hasn't figured out how to throw the ball "up" to reach the kids height basket.

Soccer, however, has been in jam!  She rocked it and we were so impressed with both how well she did and how much she enjoyed it!

She's staying active even when she's not on the court too.  Summer is the time to move those muscles!

Rock wall success, all by herself!

Speed demon!

Besides keeping busy with classes and camps, we also got to keep busy over the holiday weekend with some 4th of July fun!

Water and boat fun for the 4th!

Rolling out some homemade ice cream!

However, not all of our month was amazing.  We are devastated and despondent upon learning that Little Buddy's clinical trial was cancelled.  This extinguishes so much hope for had for his quality of life and for the memories we want he and Little Sweetie to make together.  We are in a rough time as we deal with this, but we are also just trying to soak our time with both of our children in.

Our babies.

Kisses.

The idea that these two won't always have each other hurts me more than words can say.  And to know that not only do I have to prepare with the reality of my son's diagnosis but that I must also prepare myself to explain that reality to my daughter nearly breaks me.

Making some wishes.  Holding on to hope.

Height and Weight
Wonder Woman keeps on growing!  She's weighed in this week at 36.2 pounds, huzzah!  And her height is now showing her as 38 1/8 inches!

"Look, Momma, I'm growing big and strong!"

Personality
She's really shining this summer.  Really.  Just smiles and hugs and love and I can't believe I'll miss two mornings a week of this with preschool starting in the fall.  Sigh.

Smiling and showing off her new necklace from her friend, M!

Developmental Milestones
Besides her gross motor development with her awesome bike riding, rock wall climbing, and soccer kids, we've seen some very cool fine motor and attention growth..probably Momma's favorite because it led to her helping me with the laundry!

My expert folder is proficient on washcloths and is moving up to practice on towels and tablecloths!

Daddy's favorite was probably tool time at home depot!  She had a great time making a bug catcher (Momma's not so thrilled with the concept...oh well).

And she's still very interested in crafts and learning.  Look at new rainbow crayons she made!

Art time!

Fun Tidbits
We were able to take some friends in the boat this past month and Little Sweetie loved it!  Definitely the more the merrier out on the lake!

Hanging with the E family!  Little Sweetie and B had a blast on the tube!

Little Sweetie and L!

Pop-Pop and Mimi came to visit too!

Pop-Pop also helped Daddy make some pirate ship improvements while he was here...water cannons!

Hearing the announcement about Big Brother's trial made for a rough end of the month, but it makes us even more resolute about focusing on making memories together as a family so that all of us, and especially Little Sweetie, get to relish each moment with Little Buddy.

Grateful for every moment together.

See you next month,
