Ohio in the Spring Time

Well, hello from Ohio!  We had a great trip to Marietta this weekend.  Daddy had to come back for the Spring Petro Meeting, so we all joined him for the fun!

Sister and I started off our trip with a visit to campus, where we got to meet with friends and professors.  Big Brother decided to stay at the house to play with Mimi and Pop-Pop on the castle.

Gorgeous spring day on the Marietta Mall!

A fun surprise, Miss A was in town!  Little Sweetie was excited to meet her!

Enjoying the firemen pole in the castle!

The next day, we headed North to Amish country to go on a horse-drawn wagon safari with Mamaw and Papaw.  It was a great time!  Little Buddy loved seeing all the animals.

He insisted on wearing this hat for the day!

Petting a duckling with Papaw.

Ready to feed the animals!

Here come the animals!  There were so many.  Some of the highlights included reindeer, llamas, and water buffalo.

Mamaw's having fun too!

Action shot!

Brother even got to drive the wagon!

Sister had fun too!

Bye-bye, horsies!  Thanks for the ride!

The end of our trip to Ohio was spent in Marietta.  We had breakfast at Bob Evan's with Great Grandma and Mimi and Pop-Pop and played outside more in the great weather.  Then one last trip to the campus so Brother could see the pumpjack!

Oh how we wish there was a Bob Evan's in Houston!

Fun times at Mimi and Pop-Pop's house!

Future petroleum engineer?

It was a quick trip, but it's always nice to see Ohio in the Spring time.  Looking forward to a longer visit this fall!

Good night,

Happy Easter!

It's been a fun Easter weekend!  We were lucky to spend time with family and friends (and get a seat at church thanks to early arriving godparents!), and I think that Sister enjoyed her first Easter!  Here are some pictures from our day (sadly, we didn't have the camera out as much as we thought).

Up bright and early to hunt eggs (even Chesney helped) and baskets!

Sister enjoying a Mum-Mum from her basket!

My attempt to get my two little bunnies in picture together in their Easter outfits.  After all my attempts, this one was the best!  Not sure when kids develop the skill to look at the camera and smile at the same time, but it obviously wasn't this year!

Hoping everyone had a blessed Easter,

April 19

And, somehow, here we are at 6 months!  An entire half of a year has past since our Little Sweetie has joined our family, and our lives have been more crazy and more wonderful every since!

Time goes too fast!

It's been another big month at our household.  Mamaw and Papaw came in from Ohio to come to Little Sweetie's baptism, we had Spring Pictures, went to Philadelphia for a conference, started solids, and prepped for Easter!

Getting some love from Papaw and Mamaw!

Sweet girl after our spring pictures!

Living it up as the youngest presenter at AERA in Philadelphia!

After tempting her continually with what was our on our plates...

...it was finally time to start on some rice cereal!  And she was definitely ready for it because...

...she got her two bottom teeth!  My sweet girl is growing up too fast!

Already my big girl in the high chair at restaurants!

We also had several other firsts this month, including...

First time in a swing,

first time for bluebonnet pictures, and...

first time dying eggs and seeing the Easter bunny!

Height and Weight
At her well-check, Little Sweetie weighed in 17 lbs, 12 oz and was 26.25 inches with a head circumference of 18 in.  She still seems so petite when compared to her brother though!

Personality
A very happy baby (as long as people are paying attention to her)!  Cooing (lots of vowel sounds), sticking out her tongue at every opportunity, and even making raspberries endears her to everyone she meets.

Developmental Milestones
Sitting up unsupported for long periods of time and can make it across the room by army crawling...Me thinks this baby is going to be a fast study in the art of movement!  Nothing is safe!

Fun Tidbits
Loves to play!  Really starting to get interested in toys and interacting.  Playing with big brother (or at least his toys!) is a special treat!

Playtime!

Loves playing with brother...

...and stealing his toys while he is napping!

But all this play leads to a very tired baby...

...as well as a very tired Momma.  On that note, good night!

Til next time,
