This is Halloween!

Success!  We made it through Halloween and had a great time.  As some of you may remember, last year was rough because Little Buddy had his coffee spilling accident and we spent Halloween in the hospital (I will not lie, I had some PTSD flashbacks and dread all day today).  This year, we made up for all the fun we missed last year!

Little Buddy decided that he HAD to be Emmet from his beloved Lego Movie, which then set the stage for Little Sister to be Wyldstyle and Momma and Daddy to be Lego Wonder Woman and Lego Batman, respectively.

We had our costume try-out at the Halloween party during our weekly library story time.  Little Buddy had a lot of fun listening to pumpkin stories and then playing with his costumed friends!

C and Little Buddy enjoying story time, followed by...

...the costume parade and treats!

Our friends "Jake" and "Izzie" met up with the "Rainbow Tooth Fairy" and Emmet at the park after story time.

Buddies!

After the dress rehearsal, it was time for the real thing...Halloween night trick or treating!  We headed over to meet some of our friends so we could go as a big group.  Our group's getting bigger and the kids are getting faster, making it harder to keep track of everyone, but boy did we have fun!

I got them both to smile, just not in the same picture, lol!

Little Sweetie and E playing!

Momma showing off her Lego Wonder Woman costume.

The Mommies!

The Daddies (picture taken under duress)!

And the kiddos (who are getting tougher to wrangle for a picture each year)!

Little Sister looking a little devious during trick or treat!

Little Buddy and his friend, L, stuck together as they hit the houses.

Though my feet were tired from all the walking and Little Sister carrying, it was a great night with great friends!

Happy Halloween,

One Year Pictures

Our birthday girl absolutely delighted in her photo shoot.  Not only did her beauty shine through, but so did her bright, funny, and mischievous personality.  Also, so did her tongue.  Ha!  Oh this one's love of sticking out her tongue!

Lookout world, I'm one!

Love Little Sweetie's big kisses!

We are so blessed to have a family full of joy!

Good night,

October 19: One Year Old!

Well, there's no denying it, Little Sweetie is officially one year-old.  I'm dealing.  Kind of.  I mean, being in denial is a form of dealing, right?

"Hi, I'm one and I am as ornery as all get out."

What a lovely month it has been!  Our growing girl continues to amaze us with all the joy she finds in life as she continues to explore the world around her.  And yes we think she's pretty amazing!  ;)

The Tinker Toy Queen!

Super smart sister!

Taking her girl E on a ride in the Mustang.

But her best buddy is still her big brother!

They spend a lot of time together.  A lot.

We also got some big news this month...Aunt S and Uncle M had their baby!  Little Sweetie was so excited to hear about the arrival of her new little friend!

Ready to call and talk to Baby L!

Meeting the new baby!

Then it happened.  October 19th rolled around and our baby girl was so excited about not being a baby anymore, she woke up early to celebrate!  We had a wonderful day with our Little Sweetheart!

"Good morning, I'm 1!!!"

Starting the day with a special card from brother and some birthday banana!

We decided to go to Zoo Boo for Sister's special day and, as a special treat, we brought her new tricycle for her to ride around in!

Wonder Woman surveying the zoo from the best seat in the house!

Picking her pumpkin to decorate!

Hippo sitter Wonder Woman with her amazing brother, buffalo sitting Superman!

After the zoo, it was time for some fun time with brother and then some cake!

Love these two cuties!

I know I'm biased, but she's beautiful!

But she still knows how to keep it real!

Daddy and I worked hard to make Samantha's rocking horse carrot cake!

Still not so sure about cake...

Height and Weight
Officially weighing in at 20 lbs., 4.5 oz. and measuring at 29 in.  Hitting just above average on the charts.

Personality
Little Sweetie likes to make her mind known, like when she says naps are not important (though I often win that argument).  She also is ready to fight brother when he takes her toys!  We may have a spitfire on on our hands!

But I'm not tired...

...zzzzz...

Developmental Milestones
Walking more and more!  While it's definitely a good thing, it has lead to a not-so-good thing:  her first head bump from our big girl thinking she was ready to walk down the stairs.  Poor thing.

She's also very interested in coloring and is now doing that more than she's trying to eat the crayons (good news indeed!).

Her communication continues to improve.  She says about 10 words including Mommy, Daddy, Dog, Brother, cheese, pouch, berry, and cup, and has been signing more too (Big Brother loves helping her learn her signs!  Maybe one day they'll have their own secret language).

More berries please!

We've also FINALLY graduated from the swaddle.  She's now in a Zipadee-Zip, which gives her more freedom but still keep those pesky hands at bay.  Little Sweetie wears it at nap and bedtime and has been sleeping soundly.  We'll get her to real pajamas one day, but right now, I like sleep too much!

Fun Tidbits

She's just so darn fun!  And cute!  We can't believe our little baby is grown up so fast (though she does still refuse cow milk, so I get the pleasure of baby-ing her by nursing a little longer).  It's been a crazy year and adapting to two kids has been challenging but fun.  Could ask for a better bookend to our family.  She had a lot of fun at her one year photo shoot, so I look forward to sharing those pictures soon!

Love our smart little cookie!
