March 19

A busy month of fun for our Little Sweetie which included LOTS of visitors and a few firsts!  It's been go go go since Momma and Daddy got home from Hawaii!

Beautiful girl was a big fan of her Hawaiian souvenir...her "Hawaii dress" as she calls it.  She likes to do her "Hawaii dance" while wearing it!

And what's this?  We're twins!  Love that I was able to find us a mother-daughter outfit!

And we couldn't leave her doll out of the matching dress fun!

One of her other favorite things of the month was attending her friend's birthday party at local kids' science center.  Even though she was one of the youngest ones there, she did so well listening and following directions.  And she was very interested in all of the experiments!  Maybe we'll have a Scientist Sweetie one day!

"Momma, I want to know all the science!"

Other big news this past month was Little Sweetie's race!  It was a fun and crazy weekend with Aunt D, Uncle C, and J visiting and you can read about it in the previous post on this blog, but I want to say that I am proud of her even if the evening kids' race got a little hectic and she had a meltdown right before the finish line!  But the poor girl calmed down once she got her medal and then happily headed off to bed.

Trying to get a sibling picture at the last Run Club practice of the season (obviously it didn't work out) and then showing off Little Sweetie's medal rack, complete with her two new medals!

But running isn't her only exercise...look at her take on the aerial silks at My Gym!

So grownup and now in the independent class at My Gym!

But not everything is greeted with gusto...getting ashes from church on Ash Wednesday was NOT her favorite.

Not thrilled with her dirty forehead at all.

But she does enjoy shoe shopping, especially when it benefits WILLPower!

This happy little girl did a lot this month and she mostly did it with a smile.  Big Brother and Momma had to go to Minnesota for a week for his quarterly evaluation, but thankfully Mamaw and Papaw were able to come down and stay with her.  She had a great time with them and I know they made some good memories.  She's been a little clingy to me since I got back, but that's to be a bit expected. Overall, she rolls with the punches.  Momma and Daddy go to Hawaii and Mimi and Pop-Pop come, check.  Cousins come in from out of town and we spend a whole weekend doing marathon and race actives, check.  Momma and Bubby go to Minnesota for a week and Mamaw and Papaw come, check.  We get our first haircut, survive the Easter Bunny, get our first teeth x-rays, have a crazy day at the rodeo, check.  (Reading that I realize why I am so tired this month, lol!) So grateful to have our wonderful, mature, flexible girl in our lives.

Love this girl.

Height and Weight
Hanging out at 34 pounds and just a hair above 37 inches!

Personality
Little Sweetie is as happy and bubbly as ever and really showing her independence this month.  She now gets out of bed by herself in the morning and comes right down for breakfast.  She talks about what we are doing during the day, asks questions and offers opinions.  She's growing up...and we are so blessed by it.

She's also getting good at taking selfies!

Developmental Milestones
Yet again, her language ability amazes me.  She speaks with such fluidity and a maturity beyond what I would expect.  And frankly, after everything with Big Brother, I wasn't sure what to expect.  I haven't had a neurotypical child before so all of her language skills just seem so advanced to me by comparison.  She can now make up stories, can lie (although she then tells us when questioned, "I was just joking!"  We haven't entered malicious intent of lying yet.), she has picked up phrases ("Are you kidding me?", "These are my most precious babies!"), and we have to be careful what we say because she will repeat it!

Fine motor is going strong too.  She's writing her first name independently now and her coloring is very much in the lines and more precise.

Painting is a favorite!

We've also noticed her being more brave, such as at Big Brother's last haircut when all of a sudden she decided she wasn't scared to get her haircut and wanted one.  Momma wasn't exactly emotionally ready for a first haircut, but didn't want to discount her bravery, so a quick trim did occur.  So proud of her!

Looking good, Little Sweetie!

However, we seem to have overloaded her bravery circuits with the haircut because we tried to go see the Easter Bunny directly afterward and, although she was initially all for it, the first try at pictures did NOT go well.  Thankfully, a quick walk around the mall and discussion about her Easter basket brought her around.

Both kids sitting with the Easter Bunny AND looking?!?!?  A miracle!!!

Speaking of brave, Little Sweetie had another first this month...her first dental x-rays!  Her appointment went very well (yay for continuing to be cavity-free!) but she was a little nervous about the x-ray chair and apron.  But she did great at staying calm and following directions!

Getting her "teeth pictures"!

Fun Tidbits
Spring has sprung and Little Sweetie has been ready to take it on by planting her first garden!  She is really into gardening right now and excited to watch her plants grow.  She picked plant tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, and pumpkins!  This is a good lesson in responsibility for her (and for Momma! lol) and she takes it very seriously, going outside to water and check on her garden every day.

Looking forward to a good harvest!

That's all for this month.  I would say that next month will be a little less crazy, but we already know it won't be.  Lots of traveling next month for the entire family...April is going to fly by!

Good night,

A Rodeo Birthday for Daddy

It's the first day of Spring Break AND Daddy's birthday...what better way to spend it than at the Rodeo!!!  With Little Buddy having to go to Minnesota for the rest of the week, this was our only chance for some rodeo fun!

These two are excited to be at the Rodeo with the best Daddy in the world!  Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Ready to Rodeo!

Enjoying checking out the animals...favorite included the newborn calves, piglets (Little Sweetie loved one set called "Bacon Bits"!), and lambs!

Tractor time was Little Buddy's favorite!  Little Sweetie enjoyed it too, but her favorite was definitely....

...the pony ride!  She very patiently waited in the long line and was bit nervous when she first got on, but she loved it!

Our little horsewoman!

Lunch time consisted of hot dogs and then some tornado fries!

Followed by two happy kids who got chocolate chip cookies for dessert!

Although she loved the ponies, she was thrilled to see REAL horses on our way out!

Home in time to celebrate this guy!

Finishing their day with bedtime stories with Daddy.  We are so blessed to have this man in our lives!  There couldn't be a better father for our pair.

Good night y'all,
