June 19

And so it happened...our baby girl finished her first year of preschool!  What a year and what an accomplishment.  We are so proud of all she has done and learned this year and how much she has grown in maturity and grace.  We were unbelievably lucky to have such a great teacher and sweet classmates for her first year of school and these are memories we will forever cherish.

Last day of school picture!  It was Water Day, so swimsuit was required!

First activity, bubbles and wash the cars!

Let's go fishing!

Into the pool!

Gotta wash the babies!

What a wonderful year!

The three musketeers.  Seriously, what beautiful friendships!

But thankfully, we won't be far from our friends for long.  Happy to include them in our summer adventures!

Checking out the animals with friends at TGR Exotics!  Little Sweetie's favorites were the porcupines, the hyena, and the pigs name "Bakon with a K" and "Kevin Bacon"!

Costume playdates with G.  Their giggles were amazing!

Soon enough, it was time for Big Brother's last day of school.  Summer fun was on its way!

Impromptu family lunch and an early last day of school for Little Buddy, who pulled a slick one on everybody and got sent home early for possibly being "sick".

The next morning...totally not sick!

A bit of a tantrum as we adjust to not being the only kid at home in the morning and not getting Momma's undivided attention.

"Official" end of the year pictures in their school shirts.

And now it's time to enjoy...SUMMER!!!

Baseball games!

Park time!

Summer reading!

Vacation Bible School!

Enjoying our new pergola!

Our master builder took her skills to Lego Camp!

Carousel rides at the mall!

We have also been very proud of our Little Sweetie's swimming this summer!  She has worked hard and improved so much.  I'm glad she decided to try it swim team this summer and it has been a joy watching her develop!

Her skills improved so much, both in technique and speed.  She was so proud of her PR ribbons in freestyle and backstroke!

She's also been cooking up a storm this summer and finally finished the last recipe in her Minnie Mouse cookbook and new and harvested her own black beans!

Peeling, mixing, creating in the kitchen...proud of all she's learned to do!

Black bean farmer!

She's also been hard at work making sure to spread WILLPower wherever she goes!

Our little advocate!

June also meant we got to celebrate a few great occasions...Little Buddy's birthday and Father's Day!

Making Big Brother's birthday cake!

Two crazy kids with the best Daddy ever!

Height and Weight
Coming in this month at 40 pounds and up to 40.8 inches!

Looking cute in Papaw's old hat!

We're really seen an increase in her understanding of empathy and her demonstration of kindness.  She has started calling her big brother her "baby brother", but it's because she is beginning to understand our family's shared responsibility for caring for him.  She is beginning to view herself as a helper and a caretaker seeing that development of empathy is beautiful.

Personality
Our fun loving girl is amazing in every way.  Lately, she has become a great helper and has been cleaning up.  But she's made it a game and likes to "trick" us by calling us to come clean up a big mess only for us to arrive to see she's already cleaned it up.  We're going to take advantage of this helper attitude for as long as we can!

She's also started saying pretty awesome phrases and being quite comical.  "Ahhh, this is the life!" is one of my favorites!

And she, she is just my favorite.  This girl is my everything.  Sheer perfection.  May her spirit never be tempered.

Developmental Milestones
It's been kind of a big month for her...we see her analytical mind grow all the time and how much she takes in about the world around her.  But we also got to see her start on to one of her next big childhood milestones!

Working on her science box with Daddy.  It's truly amazing to watch her brain grow and work!

And here it is, the big one...someone decided to take the training wheels off her bike!  She's made it about 12 feet on her own so far.  I think she'll have it down within another month.

Fun Tidbits

This little one barely lets me put a ponytail in her hair, but she'll let Ms. A do french braid pigtails...ay ya ya!  But I love it!

See you for more summer adventures,
