(Almost) Nine Month Pictures!

We took Big Brother in for his 4 year pictures and decided to fudge it a bit and make it Little Sweetie's 9 month pictures too (8 1/2 is pretty close, right?).  Can't believe our baby girl is so big!

We think this face is pretty perfect, whether...

...sitting...

...crawling...

...or even standing!

She loves her brother, playing with her brother's toys, and...

being pretty wonderful!

She is definitely the perfect addition to our family!

June 19

Well, looky here at Miss I-am-so-excited-to-be-eight-months!  What joyous face!

Here I am!  Eight months today!

Our happy little girl has enjoyed her last month and is just getting bigger and brighter every day.  It was a big month too, with her first trip to the beach for Memorial weekend and with Uncle C, Aunt D, and J coming to visit as well.  She's eating and enjoying many more foods (and practicing with a sippy cup), but is still a good nurser.  She's also started some night waking, which isn't as fun, but may be on the verge of more teeth or a growth spurt.  We've also made a big leap in our afternoon naps and have been able to get her to nap, swaddled, in her crib for about two hours each day.

Brother's birthday was this past week and Sister's been enjoying it when he takes her for rides in his Mustang.  Although as soon as he goes to play with something else, she claims it for herself!

Hmmm...whose car is it again?

She also had her first trip to the local Children's Museum.  Brother loves it, and I think it will become a favorite of hers too!

Firetruck time!

Height and Weight
Our at home measurements have Little Sweetie at 19 lbs and 27 in. (which is funny because those are Little Buddy's 4 month measurements!  Little Sweetie seems so small and delicate in comparison).  With as much as she eats (and demands to eat), I'm surprised it isn't more!

Personality
Happy and social, and certainly starting to ham it up!  Loves to wave to people and it almost sounds like she is saying "hi!"

Developmental Milestones
Starting to wave, blow kisses, clap, and rock on her knees.  Pulling up even more too!  It won't be long until she puts it all together...yikes!  Currently debating if her new babble of "dada" counts as her first word.

Fun Tidbits
We might have a little sports fan on our hands!  She loves playing with balls and sports equipment, often stealing brother's.  If she can overcome the genetic clumsiness she likely to have inherited, she may have a chance!

Got my helmet, got my football...put me in coach!

Though I am excited that Little Sweetie is eight months, I can't believe we're a mere four months away from her first birthday!  Where did my baby go?  Time flies by so quickly.

See you next month,

Happy Father's Day!

Little Sweetie and Little Buddy and pretty luck to have such an amazing Daddy, and I'm lucky to have found such an amazing man to share this crazy adventure of parenting.  He is a wonderful guy who deserves celebrating everyday, but we were happy to make today extra special for him.

We slept in (mostly because Sister was up late teething the night before and we were exhausted) and then spent the morning opening presents...

Daddy with all his kiddos, even the furry one!

Then, after his requested solo trip to Home Depot (I was totally ok with missing that errand), Daddy played at the park with Little Buddy while I sat with a sleeping Little Sweetie and cheered for them.

Higher, Daddy, let's go higher!

We then went to Daddy's favorite restaurant, Chuy's, for our annual Father's Day Tex-Mex.

Little Buddy is a fan of Chuy's as well!

The rest of the day was spent as a family (and enjoying the rare occurrence of the dual nap), Skyping with grandparents, and was fairly low key, which was perfect.  Time spent together is the greatest gift of all!

Happy Father's Day,

Visitors from Cincinnati!

We were so lucky to have Little Buddy's Godparents, Aunt D and Uncle C, as well as their son, J, come visit with us this weekend!  Aunt D is my cousin and we've always been very close.  Sadly, since we live in Texas, we don't get to see them very often.  In fact, we haven't seen them since J was 6 weeks old.  He's now 19 months!  Uncle C and Aunt D were also very excited to meet Little Sweetie.  We had a wonderful visit with them!

Our visitors got in late at night, after Little Buddy was in bed.  This is he and J meeting the next morning.

They became fast friends and had lots of fun at the splash pad later that morning.

Sister was unsure about her first splash pad visit...

...but had lots of fun with her new lunch buddy!

These two are too cute!

Just after one day, these three are inseparable!

We hit the park on the second day of our visit because J wanted to feed the ducks.  It was hot for the Ohio natives, but the kids had a great time!

Uncle C and J feed the ducks while Aunt D swings with Little Sweetie.

Aunt D and Daddy wrangling all the kiddos before bed!

We stayed at home on the last day of the visit so that the kids could play outside together.  I think it was safe to say that J was a fan of the pirate ship!

Best buddies!  Please don't go home today!

Pirate ship fun!

Uncle C got a workout on the swings!

So much fun!

Slide time with Aunt D...

...so then Sister needed a turn with Daddy!

Chesney got in on the fun too!

Three of my favorite kiddos!

After the pirate ship, Little Sweetie hung out in her GoPod while the big boys played in the sandbox and the water table.  We definitely had enough to keep them busy!

Loved watching them play together!

Sadly, though, the visit had to come to an end.  It was hard to say our goodbyes, but I'm hoping we all get to see each other again in the fall!

Momma and Aunt D being goofy!

Me and my Little Buddy.  I think he wanted to go home with J!

J was definitely going to miss Chesney!  He loved living with a dog for the weekend!

Cousins!

Godson with his amazing Godparents!

I'm going to miss this little guy!

I can't say enough what an amazing time we had.  Thank you Uncle C and Aunt D for coming down!  It's hard to be away from family, so it means a lot when we can make up for lost time during an adventure-filled weekend.

Good night,
