Feb. 19

Only in the second month of the year and we are firing on all cylinders! We are especially proud of her commitment to her first year of basketball and she and I enjoyed a quick trip to visit Mamaw and Papaw.

Ever since making the C-Team as the youngest player, Little Sweetie worked hard and put forth a determined effort. We are so proud of her growth and dedication.

Hanging with the JV girls. So proud of her making strong friendships with the older girls.

JV Team following winning a tournament game, without the 6th graders there!

She even took her talents to the K of C free throw tournament! She may have been the only 10 year old girl in attendance and won by default, but sometimes showing up is what matters.

Winning is winning!

In addition to basketball, Little Sweetie has been busy with Girl Scouts.  So grateful for this great group of girls!

Cookie sales have started again!

Headed to a sleepover with her Girl Scout sisters!

February continued with more memorable moments.

Happy Valentines Day!

Ash Wednesday with her buddy, G.

The big news this month was another trip to Ohio to visit Mamaw and Papaw, which also ended up being a surprise visit with Aunt D and J!

Headed to Ohio!

Fish Fry with Papaw and Mamaw!

Checking out one of Momma's old schools.

Laser tag time, as promised!

We lucked into snow!

Teaching her how to scrape ice and snow off a car!

Getting to deliver Girl Scout cookies to Mamaw in person!

With the snow, we managed to get Momma and Uncle J's old sled out of Mamaw and Papaw's garage for some sledding!

Texas girl living her best Ohio life!

So fortunate to get some cousin time in on this trip!

Can't believe we came in the same weekend as Aunt D and J!

This picture is worth more than I can even explain.

More Laser Tag and some arcade games! So much fun together!

Leaving Cleveland and headed home to Daddy and Bubby!

Even with all this, we finally found time to cook.  It's been so hard to fit any cooking with her busy schedule, we were glad to make some Super Bowl treats last month!

Height and Weight
A bit of a spike this month, with Little Sweetie up to 77 pounds and 56 1/4 inches!

Personality
Tone, man. Tone is tough.  Daddy and I are trying to be patient and tell remind her that it's not just her words but her tone that is important.  We know it is all part of growing up, but "I know!" is starting to grate on our ears a bit. Otherwise, she's still happy and silly, but we see bits of preteen creeping in with lots of big feelings.

Developmental Milestones
Still doing very well at school and all developmental markers. It's kind of weird parenting a neurotypical 4th grader for the first time.

She loves school!

Fun Tidbits
Little Sweetie had the honor of attending Confirmation and was able to support her babysitter, J-M, and Ms. S.

Congratulations to the Confirmed!

And that was February! In a month, we'll have finished Spring Break and will be heading into Easter. Don't blink!

Good night,
