Fun in Phoenix!

This weekend we were excited to fly into Phoenix to visit Uncle J, Aunt S, and cousin T in Surprise, AZ.  It was there first time meeting Little Sweetie and, therefore, the first time to get all the cousins together.  Although it was a quick trip, it was a wonderful visit!

Our welcoming party at the airport!

After we arrived, we went to Uncle J and Aunt S's house to play with their puppies and eat some lunch.  Then we headed to lots of fun at the Phoenix Children's Museum!

Little Buddy loved the cool climbing structure at the entrance of the Museum!  Daddy had to go chase him through it a couple of times.

Little Sweetie had great fun playing blocks with her brother and cousin, and then found some adventures all of her own!

The grocery store, hot dog cart, and ice cream stand were some of Little Buddy's favorite attractions!

Some sibling pencil race car action!

Family fun at the Phoenix Children's Museum!

We finished the day with dinner and then settled into our hotel.  Lots of fun sleeping with two kids in one hotel room...ha!  And both kids ignored the time change and woke up at 4 AM Arizona time, mistaking it for the 6 AM Texas time they are used to!  Daddy and I were pretty tired, but were still excited to start the day with some swim time with the family!

After swimming, cousin T went home for his nap and we took Little Buddy and Little Sweetie to a local park.  They had a great time and wore themselves out for their own naps.  Which was good, because they needed their energy for our next activity...checking out Chase Field and a Diamaondbacks game!

Brother was beyond excited for the baseball game.  Upon seeing the stadium, he turned to us and said, "Oh wow!"

Lots of baseball fun with the kiddos!

I even got to introduce the kids to one of my dear friends from childhood, Ms. A!

After the game, we head to a nice dinner at Yardhouse, where the kids did way better than we expected and we got some good pictures.  I was sad to leave the next day!

Little Sweetie and Cousin T, great dining companions!

The three cousins!  Ten months, 4 years, and 20 months.  Love them!

Obligatory sibling kiss and hug pictures.  Love my not-so-little brother and so glad I got to spend time with him and his family!

I'm so happy we got to have this time with my brother's family and hope it isn't long before we get to spend time with them again!

Good night,

August 19

Little Sweetie is 10 months!  Ten months!  That means that in two months she will be one year old!  I am not sure I can handle how quickly my baby girl is growing up.

Hi!  I'm really cute and a whole 10 months old already!

We had a very fun month with lots of growth, development, and new things!  She's doing great with finger foods and even attempts (sometimes successfully) to use a spoon.

Happy, messy girl!

Let me show this spoon who's boss!

She's been more and more interested in toys and we catch her playing blocks and racing cars all the time.

Beautiful and brilliant!

And she loves hanging our in the double stroller, whether it be feeding ducks at the park with brother, or sleeping through his dentist appointment.

Strollers are great for playtime and nap time!

I love each and everyone one of the faces she makes, from...

...milk drunk...

...to satisfied...

 ...to puzzled...

...to smiley...

...to shocked at brother!  Love every glance!

Height and Weight
Our measures have her approximately at 28.5 in. and 19.5 lbs.  Those thighs are still pretty squishy though!

Personality
She is always smiling...until she is not.  There is no middle ground!  Thankfully, her screams and tears are reserved for when she is hungry, lonely, or brother is taking her toys or attempting to pick her up (a habit we are trying to correct in our strong boy who means well, but has less-than-gentle hands).  She loves adventure and is always looking for fun (or the next way to get in trouble!).  Lifts her arms up for hugs and holding time...can't resist her smile and bright eyes!

What do you mean, I'm not supposed to be in the refrigerator?  Then why is it here, with all these cool bottles that I can reach?

Developmental Milestones
Her on-knee crawling is lightening fast and she pulls up and cruises all over.  She likes walking with her walker (when the floor is clear enough of brother's toys to do this) and seems poised to start taking steps (too soon!).  Gives high fives, kisses, and does "so big!" arms.  Also, her scrunch face is adorable.  She is constantly trying to communicate and we cannot believe how many words and sounds she is near spot on in imitating.  She may end up being a talker like her momma!

Little miss walker, coming through!

Fun Tidbits
We had several fun firsts this month, including her first pair of shoes, first time wearing barrettes in her hair, first movie night with Aunt S, and first time playing with Daddy's old ducky bench.

Already accessorizing...Daddy's in trouble!

Hanging with her Godmother!

She looks way too grown up in these, especially with her new shoes!

And thankfully, since it is only 2 months away, Momma had some good luck this month and finally painted Little Sweetie's birthday plate to match Big Brother's.  Now we're ready for October (although it can take as long as it wants to get here)!

The extent of my craftiness, but I'm glad they each have one now!

Until next month,
