May 19

Finishing up spring and ready to roll in to summer!  Little Sweetie finished up her last running race of the season and promptly started in on swim meets!

Ironkid complete!

Excited she is big enough to wear a WILLPower cap!

All her swimming hard work is paying off!

Little Sweetie and her "Big Shark", J!

Several big celebrations this month with Easter, Mother's Day, Purple Week, and her Spring Preschool Program.

Easter pictures!

Easter basket fun!

Enjoyed a beautiful Mother's Day Chapel at her school!

For Mother's Day itself, I just wanted to enjoy some time with my family outside, so we went flower picking at one of our local farms.  It was such a lovely day!

So much fun!

We love coming to this farm!

My beautiful flowers!

We also celebrated Purple Week this week and I just love seeing how this one expands her heart to help her brother.

It also warmed my heart to see her school friends supporting her!

Speaking of school, I am in complete denial that Little Sweetie will be graduating from her wonderful preschool and we won't be there anymore.  We have had such a magical time there and we love the school, her classmates, and the families we have been blessed to know.  She sparkled her in her spring sock hop program and enjoyed singing "Yakkity Yak, Don't Talk Back" at the top of her lungs!

Little Sweetie and her friend, G, looking adorable in their poodle skirts!

Uncle M, Aunt S, and L even came to see her performance!

These PreSchool Days are too short!

Between all of these fun activities, our little chef is still hard at work in the kitchen!

Want popcorn?  Make popcorn!

Homemade mini pizzas!

These cauliflower crunches were delicious!

Stirring up some homemade mac and cheese!

Bruschetta was also a huge hit!

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie weighed 45 pounds and shot up to 43 1/4 inches!

She's gotten so much taller!  Her dresses from last year are very short now!

Personality
Just happy and confident, with a healthy dose of sass.  Although the sass can be infuriating to me at some points, I also like seeing how she's developing her own voice and confidence in herself.  It's a fine line to walk between being respectful but now shying away from speaking up.

Our sister golden hair.  We love her so much.

Developmental Milestones
All of our fine motor, gross motor, language, and cognitive milestones are moving along.  I can't believe what a little person she is!  Always creating something new.

The other thing we area really striving to work on is the concept of solving a problem by herself before coming to get us.  We really want to work to help her understand her own abilities and indepedence.  This isn't just important for her development, but as a sibling of a child with special needs.  Big Brother often needs a lot from us and we need Little Sweetie to understand that and start to take agency of the things she can do.

Big Brother being too loud and throwing stuff in the car and there's no way for mom and dad to stop him?  Then put on your protective eyewear and headphones.

Fun Tidbits
We know our time with her as our little girl is waning.  With full day kindergarten looming in the fall, we are trying to take advantage of as much special time with her as we can.

Special girls day to get our nails done!

Picnic time with Daddy as his work!

I can't believe that next month we'll have a preschool graduate and be enjoying summer!

Good night,
