November 19

We finished up the Halloween season and are ready to head into the holidays!  Little Sister continues to be busy and I continue miss the slow life of the pandemic.  But we really enjoyed all of our Halloween adventures.

Designing her kitty kat pumpkin!

Scooping and carving!

Finished!

Little Sweetie's kitty pumpkin and Big Brother's shark pumpkin looked great!

More Halloween art projects!

Trying on part of Momma's Halloween costume!

The Scooby gang is ready for some Trick or Treat fun!

We got our candy on (and our wig off)!

Skeleton Sweetie had a great Halloween and is ready for bed!

Our other big event this month was Brownie Magic at Girl Scout Camp!  My mini-me and I had a great day of activities with the Brownies in our troop.

Ready to go!

The girls are ready for adventure!

Our first station was science experiments!

Ready for our nature walk!

Enjoying learning about native plants and animals!

Picnic lunch!

Dancing with the Green Starlettes!

Enjoyed their craft time!

Hiking to their next activity!

Finishing up the day with songs and games!

Little Sweetie had a great day with her friends!

Passed out on the way home!

Little Sweetie really still loves Girl Scouts.  She enjoyed Fall Product sale and helping lead the Pledge of Allegiance at school.

Delivering some delicious treats!

The Troop helping at the Veterans Day ceremony.

Speaking of school, she had a lot of fun adventures there this month too!  First up being her first Book Character parade then a Kickball tournament!

Zoey and Sasafrass are ready for the parade!

My favorite second graders!

Lots of fun playing kickball!

November also brings World Sanfilippo Awareness Day and Little Sweetie so fortunate to be surrounded by so many friends who care about her and her big brother!

Another great Purple Week!

And between all of this, we managed to fit in some cooking and some creativity!

Cooking has been really hard to fit in lately, with Little Sweetie having Choir and Piano once a week after school.  But we were glad to make some Funfetti Cupcakes this month!

We've been really into drawing lately after rediscovering her Doodle board.

Just doodling all the time!

Made her own color-by-number!

We have a lot of (read:  too many) craft kits.  Little Sweetie doesn't always think to do them, but if we lay them out and she "discovers" them, she can usually be entertained for quite some time.

Made a potholder with her new kit from her birthday!

Halloween might be done, but that just means time for more fall decor!

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie is at 56.4 on the home scale) and right above 50 inches on the growth chart.

Happy about Pajama Day at school!

Personality
She's silly and sweet and so curious about everything!

Cutting an apple in half to see the star!

Developmental Milestones
Little Sweetie amazes us all the time with all she does!  We're proud of her continuing advancement on the piano, her writing skill, and her little engineering brain.

She'll be trying out for the talent show next month!

Still incredibly impressed by her cursive...it's pretty remarkable for a second grader!

Building her LEGO Space Shuttle she got for her birthday; she did it all herself!

Fun Tidbits
Eight is turning out to be quite a sweet spot.  Possibly one of my favorite ages so far.  She's grown up enough that she can make choices and decisions but she's still young enough that, whatever she chooses, she still wants her momma there with her.  She's excited by everything and it's wonderful.

Me and my girl!

Ready to head into the holidays and see how that 8 year old excitement holds up...prayiing she's still young enough for the Christmas magic.  We don't know how many years of this we'll have left.  Also, praying for her continued health.  She and Big Brother will FINALLY get their Covid vaccinations in the coming month.  So needed for their protection.

Good night,
