June 19

Here we come summer, here we come!  This past month, Little Sister finished up her last day of preschool (excuse me as I sob) and is ready for a summer of adventure before starting kindergarten.

Splash Day!  Great way to finish off a year of fun.

Ready for her LAST day of preschool!

Big hugs for Daddy after clap out!

Last picnic and duck feeding.  Oh these sweet babies are growing up!

Although the last day of school went very well, Little Sister was brokenhearted when she realized that all of her lovely friends weren't going to be together daily any more.  We were so blessed that she had such a beautiful preschool experience.

Thankfully, we had a lot of activities planned to keep her mind off of the end of school and instead focus on summer.  First up was swim team!  It's her second year and she's doing really well.  Still strong from last year and continuing to show improvement.

Living the life after successful meets!

Looking up to her Big Shark, J!

Also, because Big Brother was not out of school yet, we decided to plan an adventure with Ms. J and K to go have lunch at the American Girl store!

Checking out the store while her doll gets her hair styled!

Lunch was great and the dolls had a lovely time too!  We finished up with cupcakes to decorate.

Of course, she picked a robotic dog as her toy from the doll store.  Ay yi yi!

Great mother-daughter day!

Summer vacation may mean a break from school, but certainly not from cooking!  Chef Sister keeps her skills sharp year-round!

Wanted a sweet treat, so made herself some brownies!

All of us were big fans of these egg breakfast cups!

Yogurt sundaes with homemade strawberry sauce!

Helping to decorate Big Brother's 9th birthday cake!

Pretty soon Big Brother was out of school and it was time for full summer to begin!  It's always a bit of a challenge navigating their different development levels and keeping them both happy, but I try!

Morning library time followed by a walk around Town Green park!

Have to remind myself that she's a little mimic of what she sees...here she is "making a video of her experience"on her toy phone.  Ay yi yi!

VBS was a hit again this year, especially since her friend G did it too!

So proud of her for working with the big girls on selling lemonade at our WILLPower stand this year.  She understands more and more about what is happening to her brother and wants to help.

Summer also means celebrating our favorite Daddy for Father's Day!

We love Daddy!

Also, in honor of Big Brother's birthday, we had some family pictures taken.  Loving how they all turned out and how much our Little Sweetie's personality shines through in them!

Our family.

She is everything I ever dreamed of.

Loves her Daddy!

My babies.

Just sums up so much.

Our family lives with WILLPower!

Me and my girl.

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie is staying consistent at 45.2 pounds and just under 43.5 inches.

Personality
She's up, down, and all around...but I love watching her grow into herself.  She's becoming more confident and sure of herself, but almost to a fault as she consistently wants to be right, even when she's wrong.  I feel like a good part of my day is just being corrected when there is nothing to correct.  Does it lead to frustration?  Of course. But I recognize her trying to find her indepedence and test her boundaries and I work to teach her how to respectfully navigate her opinions, her discussions, and her limitations.

The many faces of Little Sweetie (and Momma).

Pretty much all sums it up.

Developmental Milestones
We hit a huge developmental milestone this summer!  Her summer goal was to learn to tie her shoes...well, she barely made it into summer before crushing that goal!  The deal was that if she learned to consistently tie her shoe toy, we would buy tie shoes.  And so we did!

Perfected her technique and earned the perfect first pair of tie shoes!

Look at that focus and skill!

We have also noticed her pretending has expanded in to dolls a bit!  She's usually much more into  her stuffed animal babies and super heroes, but it's nice to see her expand her playing into new areas.

She's a good momma to her babies!

Her love of science never dissipates either.  I'm always excited when she picks out a science-related activity and wants to see how something works.

Bubble experiments!

Fun Tidbits
She was so excited to celebrate her Big Brother birthday this year!  Really love this picture of all of us.

Last night with our favorite 8 year old, the next day he was 9!

The months just keep zipping by!  I hope summer slows down...I'm not sure I'm ready for a kindergartener yet!

Sleep tight!

Good night,
