The end of February and beginning of March mean a lot for our family as we celebrate Rare Disease Awareness Day and then finish up months of training and hard work with The Woodlands Marathon events.
Showing our love and support for Big Brother and all his friends living with rare diseases!
L and Little Sweetie taking it in stride during the kids race!
Little Sweetie coming into the finish!
She earned those medals!
Team WILLPower!
WILLPower took 1st and 3rd in The Woodlands Marathon Charity Challenge!
Celebrating another successful marathon year!
Our running wasn't done...another Sanfilippo family had a run the following weekend and Little Sweetie impressed everyone with her speed!
Running like the wind to support her brother!
Then we had a few events at school before heading into Spring Break. We got to enjoy Go Texan Day at Big Brother's school and then get our ashes together as a family at Little Sweetie's school
Breaking in our cowboy and cowgirl boots!
Ready to prepare her heart for Easter!
And then here came Spring Break! We didn't travel this year, but we did manage to have some fun adventures together.
The best part of Spring Break? Ms. A being home to have fun with us!
Little Sweetie started off Spring Break with a fun activity with friends from school, a mommy and me tea set painting party! She was very creative and did a wonderful job. We can't wait to have a tea party for her dolls!
We love our new mommy and me shirts!
Lovely time with our friends!
The tea set came out beautifully!
And since Ms. A was home, we decided to try something new...our first trip to the Aquarium! Little Sweetie really enjoyed it...her love of the aquatic life was only eclipsed by the (random) white tigers that are housed there!
Fish!
Tiger!
Finally riding the Ferris Wheel we always see from the highway!
Riding a shark on the carousel!
One of my favorite pictures of the day...these two holding hands after a great morning!
Another important day to celebrate during Spring Break week was Daddy's birthday! Little Sweetie was very excited to help make his lemon cake.
Happy Birthday, Daddy!
And then after cake, it was time for pie! We wore our pi-themed outfits for Pi Day and enjoyed taking the kids to House of Pies to celebrate.
Nerds raising nerds. :)
And, finally, we were able to take our cowkids down to the rodeo! Little Sweetie loved wearing her cowgirl clothes again and getting to see the baby animals and ride a pony.
First priority was getting that pony ride in!
Now let's ride some tractors!
Learning about engines from Daddy!
Cowgirl strong!
Loved petting the rabbits.
Carnival fun!
Our favorite sunflower!
Love these two cowkids!
Ready for the show!
Here it goes!
Paw Patrol is on a roll!
She's turning into a great theater goer!
My favorite leprechaun!
She didn't catch a leprechaun in her trap, but part of his jacket got caught and ripped off!
For the first Friday of Lent, she insisted on making her favorite fish sticks from her old Minnie Mouse cookbooks. And then she also made homemade ketchup to dip them in!
Very focused while making her Cobb salad!
This month's science box involved engineering a sweeper!
Height and Weight
This month, Little Sweetie weighed 43.2 pounds and measured in at 42.75 inches.
Our beautiful girl continues to grows up!
Personality
Our silly, crazy, wild girl. So many emotions as she grows into herself. She often pretends to be an animals and growls around the house to us, then makes funny faces, and breaks out into beautiful giggles. At the same time, she's learning to manage her emotions as she matures. She can get upset quickly when things don't go her way, but we tend to be able to pull her back out of it with a talk and a cuddle.
My wild one.
I love that she continually identifies herself as amazing and strong. Her love of the recently released Captain Marvel doesn't hurt that at all. She is my favorite super hero!
Developmental Milestones
She's sounding out words and working on her reading. She's constantly building and creating worlds and narrating stories within them. She's everything.
Shaping the world around her.
Fun Tidbits
Lots of fun family time this month, including a solo fishing trip with Daddy!
They've been trying to go fishing forever and finally got the chance! No bites, but they had a great time.
Off to see the new LEGO movie!
Sibling hugs and kisses that make my heart swell.
I love the Queen of Bubble Town. So lucky to be her Momma!
Until then,
