July 19

And as predicted, July has been just as crazy and full as June!  Not to say we aren't having fun, but man, we may have over scheduled ourselves this summer!

Following Mamaw and Papaw's visit, we had a few days of down time before heading over to New Braunfels to see Mimi and Pop-Pop!  We always like to go in June to visit and give Big Brother his birthday gift of a trip to Morgan's Wonderland.

Attempting to have ONE morning of laziness before our next adventure!

In New Braunfels! Little Sweetie giving Skye hugs.

Playtime with Pop-Pop!

Pool fun!

Playing with the digger!

Loving family time!

Every year, I worry that Little Sweetie will decide that she's too old for the charm of Morgan's Wonderland.  It's one of the few places we can go with Big Brother that's fully accessible and inclusive, so I really enjoy going there but know Little Sweetie is ready for bigger adventures too.  Thankfully, as soon as she got there, she was thrilled to play again and still loved it!

Ready for a day of inclusive fun!

Enjoying all the fun at Morgan's Wonderland!  It's like a giant children's museum and she still loved it!

Heading into Inspiration Island!

Lots of fun on all the splash pads!

Enjoying the playground before we go!

As soon as we got back from New Braunfels, it was time to jump into another camp!  WOW Science Camp is one of our favorites each summer and this year was no exception.  I didn't realize that Little Sister and her friends were now old enough to be in the big kids buildings, so that caught me off guard, but she had a great time!

Pre-school friends forever having fun at WOW!

Ready for a wonderful week of WOW!

Favorite part of the week was meeting some wolf dogs!

Science camp and summer reading certificates!  Summer is in full swing!

You'd think we would have a little down time on the weekends after camp, right?  Wrong!  We finally were able to cross a professional women's sporting event off Little Sweetie's Bucket List with a Dash game and then we had a birthday party!

Daddy-Daughter Dash Game!

Excited for friends and a petting zoo at N's party!

And then it was time for some 4th of July fun!  Because we'd be going nonstop, we decided to have a laid back Independence Day.  Little Sweetie and I went blueberry picking and we enjoyed a lazy family day before a few small fireworks and sparklers in the evening.  Little Sweetie isn't a fan of big booms and was happy to go to bed before any big shows started.

It was hot, but we got our blueberries!

Matching shirts, because I can!

Sparklers before bed!

4th of July family pajamas, because, of course!

We put those blueberries to good use and made some jam a few days later too!

And then it was time for Little Sweetie's BIG ADVENTURE: Overnight Girl Scout Camp!  She was nervous to be away from us the whole time, but she went with two friends and had a fantastic time.

Little Sweetie and Pammy (Momma's old stuffy for camp) are ready!

Little Sweetie and T are ready for 4 days and 3 nights of fun!

"It wasn't long enough, I'm not ready for you to pick me up!"

Art from Girl Scout Camp!

Modeling the tie dye shirt she made!

The next phase of our summer involved a visit from Ms. A, gymnastics camp, musicals, and a triathlon!

Ready for her first day of gymnastics camp!

Little Sweetie LOVES herself some Ms. A time!

Ms. A even got to get ice cream with us and was a huge help with Little Sweetie losing a tooth while eating her treat!

We were also super excited to have Ms. A in town for Little Sweetie' triathlon!  We were very excited to see how she would do after having such good track and swim team seasons.

Prepping her transition spot and ready to go!

Waiting to start!

Swim, bike, run!

She did it!

Happy to see so many friends!

We're proud of our triathlete and she's proud of her balloon cat, lol!

Again, because there is no rest for the weary, we thought it would be a great idea to go see the Frozen musical as a family right after the triathlon.  We are gluttons for punishment, but really enjoyed the show!

Loved Frozen!

Besides all of these activities, Little Sweetie has been a big help this summer in terms of assisting me with Big Brother.  She helps clean up and keep an eye on him and understands that his daily walks are super important.  I do try to put them in our routine in a fun way, and we even took a tour of the local koi garden we had been meaning to walk to!

Ready for our walk!

The journey definitely is a reward!

Koi!

And, of course, there's always her cooking!  Summer allowed us to get back into a more regular cooking routine with her eat2explore kit and keeping the house stocked with cookies!

Chef Sister prepared soy chicken rice with broccolini in garlic sauce!

Lettuce Wrapped Sesame Ginger Meatballs with Rice and Bok Choy!

Chicken satay with rice, peanut dipping sauce, and pickled cucumber.

Peanut butter cookies!

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie is at 63.2 lbs. this month and up to about 51 8/8 inches!

Personality
The emotional roller coaster hasn't stopped, but she's responding well to learning how to take a breath and moderate her tone to help her communicate better.  But overall still very happy and enthusiastic!

Developmental Milestones
This girl has had so much growing in multiple skills this month!  From recognizing her swimming improvement to blowing our minds with her creativity and problem solving to developing responsibility, it has been a busy month of skill development.  We love her diverse interests!

Swim banquet and awards this month.  So proud of all her accomplishments this year!

Creating bracelets with a kit from Mimi and Pop-Pop!

Life skills lessons:  Bright side of a flat tire is learning how to change one and Girl Scout Camp preparations prompted a desire to learn to hand wash dishes by herself.

Coding, comic-making, and art projects (by herself and with Big Brother), this girl is always up for something new!

Fun Tidbits
Next month is our BIG vacation.  We'll be heading back east for a week and it's going to continue the theme of "jam-packed" with us in a new hotel nearly every night.  Wish us luck!

Good night,
