To be honest, I hadn't really thought about doing a character breakfast at Disney until after we got there and, as any Disney pro will tell, that's nearly too late. However, based on one of my dearest friend's assurance that a character breakfast was "totally worth it," we bit the bullet and started the day (and Mimi's birthday) off at 7:15 AM at Chef Mickey's.
Early morning breakfast time!
Do we have to get two children up ridiculously early to do this? Yes.
Was it worth it? I'll let the face below answer that question for you!
Loving every minute of it!
Honestly, I think the interaction with the characters may have been one of Little Buddy's favorite parts of the entire trip. And Little Sweetie's too, once she became more used to seeing her favorites so up close and personal!
Enjoying some delicious breakfast as we waited for the characters to come out! Little Sweetie's favorite was the bacon (of course!) and I wasn't shocked to see that Little Buddy was all over the waffles!
"Why's everyone look so excited? Is something about to happen?"
And then out they came! Little Buddy was THRILLED to see his favorite first!
This hug! This hug was worth the early morning craziness to get there. He is basically burying himself into Mickey!
"Guys, guys! It's Mickey! I know this guy!"
Little Sweetie wasn't totally sure about the situation, but she couldn't keep her eyes off of Mickey!
Goofy then snuck up behind Little Buddy!
He jumped up and was ready to run right to him!
Yet again, Little Sweetie was totally sure about this situation!
Goofy dancing away!
And then here comes Donald!
Little Buddy really did enjoy getting the autograph books signed!
Signing Little Sweetie's book and telling her hi. Again, she's a little skeptical of this whole arrangement but is slowly warming up...
Big hugs!
Next up was Pluto, who also got a big hug!
Little Sweetie is starting to feel more comfortable and actually looking at the camera!
Completing the autograph book signing ritual.
Now, all through the character breakfast, as soon as she understood what was going on, Little Sweetie wanted to know where Minnie Mouse was. Little Sweetie LOVES Minnie and was desperate to her favorite. Or she was, at least, until Minnie actually arrived.
It's Minnie!
But will Little Sweetie say hi?
Nope!
Back to Momma's lap while Little Buddy soaks in all the Minnie love!
Still willing to watch from a distance and get her book signed...
...but will not accept a hug!
Helping Mimi blow out her candle!
Loving it and taking it all in!
The joy!
Overall, a great start to the day for these two. Little Sweetie had fun and was just a little nervous and Little Buddy enjoyed every moment! So glad we remembered to do it and took a chance by taking the early morning time!
Of course, as I was applauding myself for being an awesome parent as we left, both kids had but one question...
"Where was Daisy Duck?"
Hmmm...I guess I have a new mission!
Off to the next adventure,
