As I mentioned in my previous post, we had a wonderful Christmas in Utah. However, once we got back from Utah, we still had another week of winter break! Time to find things to stay busy!
Christmas toys like her new doll bed kept her entertained for awhile...
...but soon it was time to go burn some energy! The park was one stop.
Then we checked out ice skating for the first time!
Running to get some winter miles in for Run Club!
Lots of fun at Chuck E. Cheese!
And sometimes you just need a trip to Target or a Chuy's lunch with your Big Brother!
Once school started back, we attempted to get back into routine, except we were thwarted by bad weather and then ICE days! Ay yi yi! So it was back to entertaining ourselves, but inside only this time. Thankfully, Daddy got to stay home too!
First day of cold weather meant our usual after pre-school picnic had to be moved inside!
Filling our time with more cooking! Muffins, parfaits, banana pancakes, veggie egg scrambles, noodles...this girl is on her way to being quite the chef!
Her love of science continues to grow! She wants a female Lego scientist set because "she does science like I do science!" Yes, you do Little Sweetie. Your crystal growing experiment was awesome!
New art supplies are always good for an afternoon of fun!
When both mom and dad are stuck home and inside, they clean out the attic and you get to play with all the treasures you find!
Height and Weight
JUST under 40 inches (she just can't seem to hit it!), 38.4 pounds, and 100% Spider Girl (oh the joy of finding out you fit into your older siblings old pajamas!
"I am Spider Girl! I am super strong!"
Personality
I don't know if it is because she has been off of her routine or what, but this little one has become a bit obstinate and assertive this month. She definitely thinks she's the boss and isn't really thrilled with Daddy and Momma enforcing boundaries and expectations. Sorry kid, that's life!
Developmental Milestones
Just watching her brain grow! Numbers seem to be more her things than letters right now, although we keep working on her letters with her. She loves counting and seems to have a natural aptitude for addition and subtraction.
Hmmm...does she like numbers or does she just like money?
Physically, she continues to get stronger and more confident in her gross motor skills. In few places is this more apparent than in her swimming. She's been doing great!
It's serious now...goggles AND a swim cap!
Perseverance is still going strong as she learns new things too. We went to a new play place that also has mini golf. She had never done it before and I was impressed how much she enjoyed it and by how much she kept trying, even when it was difficult.
Going "around the world" working for her hole in one! Which she did accomplish once!
Fun Tidbits
This made me laugh. While we were cleaning out the attic, we found the kids play tent. Our game room is so filled we don't have it out very often. Well, Little Sweetie insisted on setting it up in her room so she could "camp out." She loaded it up with all of her favorite things and slept there for a good week before we could convince her to go back to bed!
All snuggled in for her camp out!
A little post camp out bedhead! Hoping this love of camping means she'll want to do Girl Scouts like her Momma!
Night all,
LSM
