Someone was so excited to go to her first birthday party! Normally, she's invited along with Big Brother to mutual friends' parties, but this was her first party for one of HER friends. She had a great time at the children's museum (she especially loved playing with the dinosaurs) and was thrilled to wear her cowgirl hat to the western themed party for her friend, K! And she was more than happy to dig into her ice cream!
Look who made me a beautiful Mother's Day bouquet at library story time!
After story time, we rode the trolley to have lunch with Aunt S, and then started walking back to the car which was parked at the library. Thankfully, I brought the Ergo. As you can tell by the blond curls, someone tired out from our walk pretty quickly!
Hanging out in the book maze!
Picnic lunch together after Boot Camp!
She also loves picking her outfits for our outings. Quite the daring fashionista!
Well, daring when it comes to her clothes. Her hair? Not so much. This is how our attempts at getting pigtails in went. I had to put on Big Brother's arm guards just to try to get them in to see if she would like them once she saw them. The answer? Nope. Not at all. Full meltdown. Someone is going to be super sweaty this summer in Texas if she doesn't learn to allow her hair to be pulled up!
We are out and about a lot, but we also have lots of fun while we are at home too!
Using our magna-tiles to build a chair, a table, and a bed for Baby Margaret. Engineer in training, I believe!
I love watching my baby play with other babies! She is smitten with Baby S!
Super Sweetie to the rescue!
Taking a rest and watching cartoons!
Being a stinker and sampling MY Mother's Day macaroons to make sure they are ok!
Height and Weight
Despite all of Daddy's best efforts, she will NOT break 30 lbs for more than a week, lol! All the whole milk yogurt and milkshakes can't seem to help our peanut jump that last mark. However she is nearly 35 inches, so we know she's growing!
Muhahaha!
Personality
Happy and sociable but has recently developed an aversion to getting her picture taken! You have to surprise her or take a candid shot because if you say, "Let's take a picture!" she immediately frowns and runs away while yelling that she doesn't like pictures. She also does the same thing whenever you mention trying to do something to her hair!
This was the ONLY good picture we were able to get of her at Uncle C's graduation. She wasn't having it in the group photo!
Developmental Milestones
Baby girl is still way ahead on her language and cognitive skills, slightly ahead for fine motor skills, and right on target for gross motor skills! We actually got to have an OT student do a practice evaluation on her and the only developmental milestone she hasn't it yet is being able to jump with two feet off a platform. That we can work on, especially during her My Gym class!
Fun Tidbits
Little Sweetie is wise beyond her years. She knows that something is different about her Big Brother and she is starting to show true care and concern about him, like when she asked if she could hold his hand during our walk one night. After she had it, Little Buddy immediately said, "I feel better." These two have my heart.
As we inch closer and closer to 3, I am so happy that I have all these memories captured here. It's all going too fast!
Until next month,
LSM
Little Sweetie's Momma
