October 19: Once Upon a Time, Our Little Girl Turned 9!

It's happy birthday month for our Little Sweetie and man, have we made sure it was full of fun!

School and all of its activities have been in full swing.  Little Sweetie has a full schedule, but we're glad she has so many interests (that she can just stay after school for and I don't have to drive her too!).

Ready for another season of Run Club!

At our school's 50th Anniversary Mass with the Cardinal, Little Sweetie was selected as a reader!

Enjoying Muffins with Mom along with good friends!

Really enjoying Chess Club!

Ready to do her best!

Going over her moves with Coach J!

Hard work paid off with an individual trophy!

Second place in the elementary division!

Proud of our Chess kids!

Choir has also kept our girl busy!  They were invited to perform the National Anthem for the Soccer Homecoming game and to sing at the Parish Festival.

Performing and having fun at the Homecoming game!

Lots of festival fun!

Even when we don't have an activity, we sometimes just show up at school to help!

It was also a very busy month for Girl Scouts!  Besides her regular meeting, she also had an ice cream social/Bingo party and a Halloween day up at the camp.

Make up Brownie meeting for all our Chess Club girls!

Playing Bingo with our local GS community!

Dressing up as Robin Hood at the Halloween Day Boo-tique!

Headed down the Haunted Trail!

Learning the Time Warp dance!

Fun with friends at camp!

We were too tired to stay later at the Camp Day for s'mores, so Daddy had a campfire ready for us when we got home to do our own!

With all the busyness, we haven't had a lot of time to cook, but we have fit a few times in!

I wasn't too sure about these hot dog cups when she picked them out, but they were pretty good!

She had a science project for school on measuring and chose cooking as her option!  She made Cowboy Cookies and then had to create her first PowerPoint to present what she did to her class.

Working on her cooking PowerPoint!

And then it was time for all the birthday shenanigans to start!

Someone is turning 9!

Waiting for our well check and flu shots.  She actually didn't freak out as much I as expected this year!

We started the celebration with a roller skating party with all of her friends.  It was a great time and everyone enjoyed themselves.  Her theme was Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Great friends!

Godsiblings!

Ready for cake!

Happy birthday, Little Sweetie!

So much fun!

Present time!

Another big birthday treat was that Mimi and Pop-Pop came in for her party!  She loved spending time with them and receiving her presents-including a new personalized dollhouse!

Mimi and Pop-Pop time!

And now it is time for the actual birthday...do do do!

Ready for the Birthday Girl!

Her Growing Up Girl figure for 9!

Excited for Momo and that Comfy Cozy Day lines up with her birthday!

Officially nine!

Finishing the day with MORE presents!

Height and Weight
Little Sweetie is at 64.4 lbs. this month and up to about 52.5 inches!

Our third grader!

Personality
Still very happy and silly.  Sometimes we have to laugh at how "young" she still acts, but we know we will be missing the simple innocence of these years soon enough!

Ready for Halloween!

Happy to have a special day with Momma!

Developmental Milestones
School is going well, even with the increased workload and switching teachers.  We're very proud of her hard work and how she takes on each challenge.  She even got to try something new this month.  Our new sitter, JM, is an archer and he shares his birthday with Little Sweetie so, as a birthday present, he took her to his archery range.  She did really well (bullseye and bursting balloons!) and now wants to buy a bow with her birthday money!

Fantastic first try at archery!

Fun Tidbits
As always, our photographer, Ms. J, memorialized Little Sweetie's birthday with some amazing images.  We are so grateful for these memories of this beautiful time.

We love her. So much.

What a month it's been!  And next month we'll be headed into the holidays and more memories.

Good night,

LSM
